Are you a gardener?

The Harvest Gardens is an area of over 1,100 community garden plots established on land about a block away from our church building. It has been used as a community outreach to share the land God has provided and to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to gardeners from many communities around the Twin Cities who create a diverse mixture of cultures and languages.
Gardens are available to anyone, without cost, on a first-come basis. Garden events are translated, as needed, between English, Spanish, Hmong and Karen. Events include a season opening orientation, a midsummer picnic and gardening workshops throughout the season. The gardening workshops are organized in cooperation with the City of Maplewood and Ramsey County Master Gardeners.
Volunteer With the Harvest Gardens
Several plots are set aside for a Giving Garden, grown and tended by volunteers for area food shelves. Gardeners are welcome to contribute produce from their own gardens. Deliveries take place two or three times weekly.
Garden Kids Club
All kids at the Gardens are invited to Kids Club during the Summer months! Meet at the Shed for a fun time of Bible stories, games and crafts. Contact the Church Office (651.777.5180) if you have any questions about when Garden Kids Club meets.
Many hands are needed to greet gardeners and assist in the process of helping gardeners fill out registration forms and record accurate information for each gardener. Even if you’re not a gardener, you can be a welcoming face to other gardeners.
There is a lot to do before the gardens open. Volunteers plow the fields, doctor up uneven plots, string plots and hang plot identification tags, and other tasks as the weather allows.
