The aim of Expedition
Children are treasured at First Free! Our mission is to provide a safe, child-friendly environment where children will trust in Christ and grow in Him. We are intentional about planting seeds of the Gospel in the hearts of even our youngest children by means of creative and engaging Bible lessons and through trusted personal relationships. Once children have trusted in Christ, we want to assist their parents in providing what they need to grow in their relationships with Him.
3 years – Grade 6
During Expedition, children interact with trained leaders through games, large group story time and messages, small group Scripture memorization and Bible application.
Expedition meets by age in these groups:
- 3–4 year olds
- Kindergarten–Grade 2
- Boys Grades 3–6
- Girls Grades 3–6
Infant–2 years old
This program is for children whose parents volunteer during Expedition or attend an adult Bible study.
If you have any questions or want to learn about how to volunteer in Expedition, contact Abby Beard, Director of Mid-Week Children’s Discipleship.
Security and Check-in
Parents check their child(ren) in at the check-in kiosk and print out security badges for their child(ren) and themselves, with a matching security number. Our strict security policy requires adults to present their security badge in order to pick up children from Children’s Ministries classrooms.
Adult volunteers and staff serving in Children’s Ministries are required to complete an application with references, agree to ministry policies, undergo a background check, and complete MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. Senior-high-aged volunteers go through an application and training process as well. MinistrySafe provided the framework of our security measures; learn more by clicking the logo below.
